Great Britain 2 Shillings (Florin) 1937 to 1951
Hi Aubrey -- These are modern coins and are not worth very much. A collector may pay a few US dollars to add an uncirculated specimen to his or her collection. After 1946 the coins are made of copper nickel, so they do not even carry silver value. Before then, coins dated 1937 to 1946, these were made in 50 percent silver and contain 0.182 troy ounces of the precious metal. Look up the current price per troy ounce at kitco.com and multiply by 0.182 to find the minimum value for the coin. If you have a silver coin in excellent condition, add a few US dollars to account for collector appeal, which drives the price upward.
