Great Britain Crown 1935
Great Britain Crown 1935

The catalogs are not kind to this coin. Even though it contains 0.455 troy ounces of silver (look up the value on kitco.com), the value is only $50 US dollars or so, but only if in fully, absolutely uncirculated condition. Circulated coins, like the on in our picture, are worth basically silver bullion value. (Use a website such as Kitco.com to look up current silver values.)

A few proofs were issued, and they are valuable ($600 catalog value), and 28 coins were issued in gold. Proof coins are struck especially for collectors and are encased in plastic as soon as they are produced - never being exposed to friction or fingerprints. See if you can find one of those in the original casing!
