Mexico 5 and 10 Centavos 1936 to 1946
Hi Siria -- I'm sorry, but the repulsive eye appeal on your Mexican 5 cenatovs will render it essentially valueless. Coin collectors are looking for appealing coins to add to their collections, and that means they will only pay more than face value if the coin looks nice.
The coin in our picture comes from respected eBay seller MrPotatoHeadd. It is a great coin with almost no wear, nice luster, strong strike, and good eye appeal. CoinQuest thanks Mr. PH for use of his coin image. If you have a coin with likable or attactive eye appeal, here is what the catalogs say about these two series. The 10 centavos looks like the 5 centavos coin, except, of course, the big '5' is replaced with a big '10' ... 5 CENTAVOS: worn: $1 US dollars catalog value average circulated: $2 well preserved: $3 fully uncirculated: $10 Coins dated 1938: $100 in fully uncirculated condition 10 CENTAVOS: worn: $1 US dollars catalog value average circulated: $3 well preserved: $4 fully uncirculated: $12 Coins dated 1937: $400 in fully uncirculated condition 1938: $100 fully uncirculated 1939: $60 fully uncirculated Use our Important Terminology page to convert these catalog values to actual values.
