Portugal 5, 10, and 20 Reis 1882 to 1886
Hello again, Bette -- You have an old 20 reis coin from Portugal which catalogs around $5 US dollars in average circulated condition. These were also made in 5 and 10 reis denominations. They look the same, only smaller and with the corresponding Roman numeral on the back.

Requester description: 1883 Side view of a man in middle of coin. Around the edge of coin are small dots. In large capital letters around the edge of that says,'D*LUIZ*I*REI*DE*PORTUGAL.' * REPRESENTS DOT BETWEEN WORDS BACK OF COIN: Small dots on outside of coin like front. Two types of leaf branches (one olive and one possibly a holly branch) circling the outside of coin. The bottom of branches are tied together with a ribbon In middle of branches reads like this X X R E I S 1883
