Hello..hope ur day is good. Have a question..are there any known 1879 overdates of this year? It clearly shows the 9 doubled and the 7 slightly. The nine reminds me of some of the 9's on the U.S. indian 1869/9. Just wondering - ron
We don't think so, Ron. But we cannot keep up with varieties at CoinQuest. (We can barely keep up with 'normal' coins!) I looked in the catalogs and there are no varieties called out. I also looked many images in our professional database and cannot find anything that looks doubled. Variety collecting has not really caught on with non-US coins. It is a potentially big new area in numismatics, but research and cataloging is necessary before it can catch on. I'd save your coin. It might be extra valuable some day. - CoinQuest (Paul)
