US Commemorative Half: California Diamond Jubilee 1925 | commemorative diamond half california jubilee pan bear prospector hat bar headdress man line cap beard hair facial straight king god Oh, wow, Cat. What a beautiful coin. This coin comes from a time when the US Mint knew how to create artistic designs. In my view, modern coin designs stink compared to the earlier ones. But this, of course, is mere opinion ... sorry for my blurt-out!

In any case, the US issued a long series of commemorative half dollars during the early and mid 1900s. Yours is one of many interesting coins from the series. Here are some catalog values:

worn: $35 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $100
well preserved: $140
fully uncirculated: $200

NEVER CLEAN A COIN. CLEANING RUINS VALUE.

don't try to clean your commem. That will only lower its value.

Diamond Jubilee coins in fully uncirculated condition can increase in catalog value as high as $1000, but those are very rare.

Be sure you understand what we mean when we say 'catalog value.' Use our Important Terminology link to understand what this weasel word means.
