Prices are explained on this page. - CoinQuest (Paul)
I have a 1937, 5 Reichsmark. It is very great shape. Can you give me an estimate on its worth? - Christopher Ledford
Our estimates are shown on this page. For more accurate estimates, consult a knowledgeable collector or professional coin dealer for an in-person appraisal. For definitions of 'worn', 'average circulated', etc., see our Terminology page. - CoinQuest (Paul)
I have a 1937 2Pfennig silver coin that has a double stamping on the name. (Paul&Von) is this a common error or can you help me with this? - Joe R.
Joe -- These are marks, not pfennigs. The normal catalogs do not show any special varieties of these coins, so your doubled coin may be more valuable but, without numismatic references to back it up, few collectors would pay a premium. Variety collection has not really caught on with anything except US coins. To expand variety collecting worldwide will take a lot of research and a lot of documentation. As far as I know, no one has taken on such an endeavor. - CoinQuest (Paul)
I won two auctions online, both 1937, one a 2 mark the other a 5 mark. What I didn't realize was the 5 mark was what was called a spielgeld???? ... something to do with miniature play money(?) I heard they are rare and hold some value as a collectable, might this be true?
Not much value in spielgeld. Our page on spielgeld appears at this link [PRESS HERE]. - CoinQuest (Paul)
I have a 1934 5 Reichmark in fair circulation condition and live in Minnesota and would like to know where to take it for the best appraisal - Robert Winchester
Hi Robert -- We cannot recommend coin dealers by area. Your best bet is to take it to several dealers and average their offers to buy your coin. You can go to this link [PRESS HERE] to find top-notch dealers around the US. - CoinQuest (Paul)
I have an original 1938 German Silver 5 Reichsmark Coin that's in really good condition (like barely worn) and was interested in how much its worth? - Connor
Hey Connor, check out the '5 Reichsmark' paragraph in the article. It sounds like yours might be considered 'well preserved.' - CoinQuest (Todd)
Hi, I have a 1935 reiches 5 mart paul von hindenburg coin and It isn't to well preserved but I was wondering how much it would be worth? - Shy
Hey Shy - the catalog values are listed on this page. It looks like they're currently selling for $10-$15 (U.S. dollars) in lower grades. - CoinQuest (Todd)
Where do I find mint mark on 5. Mark Hindenburg 1936 coin - karen
Hey Karen, a mintmark will be under the first '1' in the dates - right next to the collar. - CoinQuest (Todd)
